The course

Our Autumn Skills School follows the format of Survival Guild Finland's Summer Course, their pre-requisite for the winter course. After a theory day on wilderness navigation, and making your own backpack, you head into the wilderness stripped of most belongings, carrying minimal clothing and tools.

The Guild course provides no food beyond what is hunted, fished or foraged. We put the emphasis on learning, so if you don't catch a fish we provide one and still teach you to prepare it.

What you'll learn

By week's end you will build quick shelters and light fires several ways, having fished, set simple traps, practised basic wilderness first aid and navigation, and learned to identify a wide range of berries, mushrooms and fauna.
