Autumn Husky Training
Join the autumn conditioning season on a 3-day or 7-day sleddog training camp at the farm.
Autumn, with its spectacular colours, is a wonderful time to visit. The cold sees off the mosquitoes, October nights often dip below 0°C, and clear mornings sometimes carry hoar frost.
- 3-day intensive sleddog camp
- 7-day sleddog training course
- Train on quads before the snow, then sleds
- Good physical condition recommended
Autumn farm training experiences
Most dogs, especially the leads, train individually through summer. Autumn is their first chance to run as a team, as experienced dogs rediscover the joy of running together and the previous year's puppies join a team for the first time.
From quads to sleds
We start on quads, switching to sleds once the snow cover is sufficient and the marsh is frozen. Depending on your dates you may experience both. Conditions can be challenging, so good physical condition is needed.
Taster or week-long camp
The 3-day taster gives a small peek into autumn farm life. By the end of the week-long package you will be making your own contribution to the daily routine. Want longer? See our guide training programmes.
