Our kennel is independently rated 'Certification Plus' under MUSH with P.R.I.D.E., the only internationally recognised standard in the sleddog world and effectively its only symbol of excellence.

What P.R.I.D.E. is
Mush With Pride, established in 1991 by mushers concerned about sled dog care and public perceptions of mushing, stands for 'Providing Responsible Information on a Dog's Environment'. Its guidelines and voluntary kennel inspections were the first of their kind, and kennels exceeding the recommended standards earn 'certification plus'.
What the certification shows
The certificate shows a clean, well-kept kennel, healthy and happy dogs, and houses, cages and chains in good repair and suited to the weather here. It confirms good access to water, good-quality food stored and prepared cleanly, a pack well socialised with dogs and humans alike, equal care for pups and veterans, and deliberate, restricted breeding. This work helped earn our GOLD for Best Animal Welfare Initiative at the 2015 World Responsible Tourism Awards.
Records and no-kill policy
Our written dog files, covering behaviour, vaccination and medical records, running distances and basic obedience, are a source of real pride. So is our 'no-kill' policy for retirees and non-running dogs, one of very few in Scandinavia. Every dog here lives out its days enjoying a hard-earned rest.
