Glacier courses and treks are a unique chance to explore glacial landscapes and ice-age scenery. The closest glaciers to Finland lie just a few kilometres across the border in northern Norway. AGM offers a mini-course for skiers, a comprehensive 5-day glacier course and guided day trips onto the glacier.

Equipment
For any summer glacier trip or course you need personal trekking gear and rigid hiking boots (good hiking boots suffice, mountain boots are not required). On courses targeted at skiers you also need your own ski-touring equipment, meaning strap-adapters for alpine or telemark skis and climbing skins. Snowboarders need snow-shoes for ascents.
Glacier Course
Our comprehensive five-day glacier course gives you the tools and techniques to move safely and independently on glaciers. You learn to use ice-axes, crampons, ropes and other glacier-safety equipment through modules on snow and ice anchors, crevasse rescue, ice climbing, choosing a safe route on ice and snow, glacial navigation in bad conditions and moving as a rope-team, with evenings free to explore the theory in more depth.
Place: the Steindalen glacier in the Lyngen Alps. Time: June - September. Duration: 5 days. Participants: 4-6. Price: €490 per person. Includes guiding and required glacier equipment (excluding boots).
Glacier Course for Skiers
A shorter course for those wanting the basic glacier knowledge needed for safe glacier skiing, or a quick refresher. We cover making a rope team and moving together on ropes, snow and ice anchors and their use in a crevasse-rescue scenario, and safe glacier navigation and movement even in 'white-out' conditions.
Place: Lyngen, northern Norway. Time: February - May. Duration: 3 days. Participants: 2-6. Price: €360 per person. Includes guiding and required avalanche and glacier equipment.
Glacier Trek
The Glacial Trek is about pure enjoyment, and no previous glacial experience is needed. Walking as a rope team through a labyrinth of towering ice-walls and crevasses, you have plenty of time to take in the awe-inspiring scenery and Arctic nature.
Place: Lyngen, northern Norway. Time: February - September. Duration: 1 day. Participants: 4-10. Price: €75 per person. Includes guiding and required avalanche and glacier equipment.
