Wilderness Cabins
Family-owned wilderness cabins that serve as safari stops in winter and are available out of season for weekly rent or kayak journeys.
Our family owns several wilderness cabins. In season they serve as refreshment or overnight stops on winter husky safaris. Out of season, one or more may be available for weekly rent or a kayak-journey overnight.
- Lakeside Ounasjarvi cabin with wood-burning sauna and child-friendly beach
- Kellotijarvi on the Muoniojoki, a perfect base for fishing (main cabin sleeps 4-6)
- Two Palojoki cabins, ideal for paddlers
- Remote Nammalakuru cabin on the Tarvantojoki, for fishing and berry picking

Cabin on Lake Ounasjarvi
Owned by Pasi's parents, the cabin sleeps 2 in comfort, with bed spaces for four, one room for living, sleeping and changing, and a wood-burning sauna seating up to 8. A logshed, wilderness toilet and outdoor laavu (built in summer 2014) complete it. The shallow beach suits small children, and you arrive by boat or on foot.

Cabin at Kellotijarvi, on the Muoniojoki River
The main cabin sleeps 4 - 6 in two rooms, an adjacent building adds bunkbeds for 4 more, and the sauna holds a single bed, so a group of 9 - 11 can sleep here. A perfect place for fishing.

2 cabins on the Palojoki River
Two cabins share a horseshoe bend of the Palojoki river, roughly midway between Leppajarvi and Palojoensu. The smaller sleeps 3, mainly winter guides. The larger sleeps 8, for overnight safari groups. There is no sauna yet, but there is a wilderness toilet, a log shed and a fine overnight stop for paddlers.
Cabin on the Tarvantojoki River
We hope to re-erect the old Nammalakuru cabin and store beside the Tarvantojoki River in the summer of 2015. It is remote, a c. 5km off-trail walk between Kultima and Kuttanen needing decent navigation, or a river crossing from the Kultimaa road. Sleeping 12-16, it is ideal for fishing or berry picking.
