Summer Wilderness Skills School
A survival journey modelled on Survival Guild Finland's benchmark course. Eat only what you hunt, fish or forage. 2, 3 and 7-day options.
An A-to-B survival journey through arctic wilderness, modelled on Survival Guild Finland's benchmark course. You eat what nature provides and sleep in self-made shelters, no sleeping bags, bar the pre- and post-course nights in our farm kota.
- Survival Guild Finland's benchmark format
- Hunt, fish and forage your food
- Self-made shelters, no sleeping bags
- 2, 3 and 7-day options
- Requires good health, no regular meals or medication
Living off the land
You eat only what you hunt, fish or forage, feeling your body adjust as you master Lappish shelter-building, safe water, fire from many materials and finding food.
Nutritional needs will not be met this week. You must be healthy, with no need for regular medication or meals.
The journey
You hike in to the remote Palojoki cabin. Waters teem with salmon, trout, perch, pike, grayling and white fish, swamps with blueberries, lingonberries, cloudberries and cranberries. You pass from primeval boreal spruce forest into open arctic tundra. Instructors carry sat phones for emergencies.
