Meet the dogs currently looking for a home, listed in priority adoption order.
The most important part of an adoption is matching the right dog with the right person, but we hope people first consider our oldies, or those other farms would put down for medical reasons. They make strong companions and, we believe, live better lives retired to a sofa. Every dog listed has spent time indoors, is completely or nearly 100% house trained, and all are open and friendly except the rescues in the 'shy' section.

02Ready for a sofa
These dogs worked hard all their lives and deserve constant pampering in retirement. They include Bran (born 31 Oct 2010), a lead dog in his early seasons, adopted in August 2020. Georgie (born 21 Jun 2019) is a rescue from Helsinki, originally an Estonian pup. Anton (born 1 May 2012) is the only purebred Siberian Husky at Hetta Huskies.
03Practical aspects of adoption
Adopting is easy from Scandinavia, and if you want a certain type of dog (one that can run with you, or one good with kids), get in touch, as we have suitable dogs beyond those shown. From overseas the inoculations and paperwork are complicated, expensive and time-consuming, but not impossible. Our dogs have reached Colorado, New York, the UK and Central Europe.
04The three little sisters
Grumpy (born 1st December 2007) is a total sweetheart, completely house trained, who wants a sofa and 'her' person for constant cuddles. Trouble (born 1st December 2007) is the least needy of the three sisters, loyally bonding once she knows she is yours forever, the perfect mix of fun and quietness. Pinky (born 1st December 2007) has the most energy, would benefit from a sensi-plus diet, and will focus all that life on you in a forever home.
05Shy dogs
Several shy oldies will probably stay with us for life, yet each could do well in the right home: Jani, Minnie & Mighty, Mullers, Pekki, Timon and Leon.
Jani (Dec 2007) has a chronic limp, is mostly frightened of men and new people, and suits a quiet home with women. Minnie & Mighty (Sept 2008) are timid rescue sisters, best adopted together for confidence. Leon (July 2006), for years our #1 top runner with more than 21,000km behind him, is now 12 and ready for a soft sofa in retirement.
06Special needs dogs
These dogs need experienced handlers: Keri, Soda and Ronnie.
- Keri (2006): intelligent and obedient but unpredictable, and can snap if stressed, yet in the right home he could be a lovely companion
- Soda (July 2014): huge and high-energy rather than aggressive, he was born with a respiratory problem similar to asthma, so we never run him further than 4km. With the right handler he is overly affectionate and wants only to please
- Ronnie: son of a Pyrenean Mastiff and an Alaskan Husky and rescued from being put down, he adores cuddles, and an offer for him could be a loving hospice home for his final months
