01

Day 1 - Into the Wild

A morning of kit-sorting, then a bumpy transfer along an old German-built World War 2 road to the head of the river. We sleep in a wilderness cabin near the roadhead and learn fire-making that first evening, golden eagles overhead, elk on the horizon.

02

Days 2-3 - Surviving in the Arctic

We make fishing tackle the traditional way, then catch, clean and cook the evening meal with wild herbs. Fire lessons continue. Day 3 covers navigation by compass, GPS and natural signs, and some rapids en route call for earlier experience.

03

Days 4-6 - Peaks, Borders & Civilisation

We push on to the Barents Sea at the top of Norway, reading terrain maps and riding fine mountain-bike tracks, join local herdsmen for reindeer husbandry, and build shelters against rain, sun, wind and insects. The waiting van finds you changed.
