1 Month Trainee Programmes
A one-month trainee placement, primarily for animal or tourism professionals, mastering the basic daily tasks of a husky farm.
This short-stay programme is aimed at animal or tourism professionals, usually on a school traineeship, though other applicants may be considered in special circumstances.

How the month works
Week one is one-on-one, working through a prescribed action plan of the farm's basic daily tasks. A consolidation week follows with a designated mentor, targeting gaps and areas of interest. Vet students might practise handling, basic assessment, nail clipping, anal-gland emptying and heart-listening. Future wilderness guides might focus on maintenance, client interaction, safari preparation or marketing. Whatever your field, everyone masters the basics.
What you'll achieve
After one month most people can handle the season's basic tasks with little supervision, though without sight of other seasons they rarely feel a full member of the team. We view a 1-month trainee more as our contribution to the professional schools and colleges than as a benefit to us.
