Evening Farm-Feeding Challenge
A hands-on evening feeding with our hungry husky pack, the first taste of what it means to be a guide.
Stay in Hetta more than a couple of days and you will hear it between 5.30 and 6.30pm (times vary in the winter season): a hungry husky pack barking for food, then howling in appreciation.
- A genuine hands-on, behind-the-scenes feeding experience
- Learn why each dog gets a different amount
- A popular add-on after a farm visit
- Suitable for children
An alternative (or add-on) to a standard farm visit
Book it instead of a standard farm visit, or as an add-on for more time with the dogs. It is the first real taste of a guide's daily work.
What you'll do
You help prepare the food and carry it from kitchen to farm, usually taking the cage area, the lightest lifting and the most fun, home of the unruly pups. An experienced guide explains why each dog's portion differs, how our weekly dog checks set them, and how we keep the pack hydrated through the winter months.
Suitable for children
Children join in safely. Local youngsters help with our summer evening feeds and play with the dogs while they are at it.
