Our Dogs
More than 200 well-cared-for huskies of many breeds - the pride of the farm.
We pride ourselves on our dogs. Visiting mushing experts have called ours one of the nicest farms they have seen, and our local vet, responsible for farms of 40 to 400 dogs, says it is always a pleasure to visit. We do not take that lightly.
- More than 200 dogs on the farm
- Mostly Alaskan huskies, plus Siberian huskies, Taimyrs and Nenet Laika crosses
- Fluffier Siberians run the multiday safaris, Alaskans run the day tours

A wide variety of sled dogs
We currently have more than 200 dogs, mostly Alaskan huskies, alongside Siberian huskies, the breed most people picture, and two primitive Siberian breeds, Taimyrs and Nenet Laika crosses.
The fluffier dogs (like the Siberians in the header image) run the multiday safaris, while the Alaskans run the day tours and come home at night to well-insulated kennels, swapping onto the multidays when temperatures run 'high'.
High standards and proud guides
We work within an EU project to raise safety and dog-care standards across Northern Europe while holding our own exacting standards. Our guides know every dog's character, train them (and themselves) to a high standard and work one step ahead of client expectations. Expect one of the safest, most responsible and most pleasurable husky-mushing experiences in Northern Europe, and we hope you fall in love with our dogs too.
Breeding HistoryHow the Hetta Huskies kennel grew from around a dozen dogs in 2008 into today's diverse family of Alaskans, Siberians, Malamutes and rescues.
Breeding ProgrammeA strict, planned breeding programme that produces only the puppies we need, timed so the pups grow up confident, friendly and ready for the trail.
Health & WellbeingLifelong care for our huskies - daily cleaning, feeding, grooming, training and petting, with a kennel kept in top condition all year round.
HettaView (Dog CRM)HettaView™ is our bespoke AI dog-CRM and guardian angel - a digital biopsy of every husky that tracks health, teams, vaccinations, equipment, reproduction, diet and welfare across the whole farm.
Medical ChecksEvery dog gets a thorough weekly check plus careful, double-logged health records so we can spot recurring issues and stay on top of vaccinations and worming.
NutritionYou are what you eat - a carefully balanced meat-and-dry-food diet, with hot winter soups, fresh summer water and supplements tuned to every dog's needs.
Team CompositionThe juggling act of building balanced dog teams - how many dogs run, how they are positioned and paired, and why mushing is not an exact science.
Training MethodsA rigorous, year-round, humane training programme built on trust and friendship - with clear boundaries and a season-by-season plan from autumn conditioning to puppy training.Good to know
