Green Activities

Green Activities is a sustainability certificate for outdoor activity operators, and the only one in the Nordic countries with criteria for animal welfare in tourism. Certified companies commit to raising the environmental awareness of customers and staff and to reducing the impact of their activities. Assessment runs across 6 key criteria, with the 'imperative' criteria compulsory in every category and increasing annual adherence to the 'guideline' criteria. At initial application we already met 56 of the optimal guideline criteria.

The 10 principles of Sustainable Tourism Finland

The 10 principles of STF cover fair cooperation, taking care of nature (including the welfare and dignified treatment of animals), respect for cultural heritage, the promotion of prosperity, human rights and equality, and a preference for local products, services and businesses, with further principles on quality and safety, climate change, responsible communication, financial stability and commitment to sustainability.
