Short courses and training camps
Our shorter intensive guiding courses and autumn training camps are open to anyone. You stay in comfortable accommodation and join the guides through the working day. The daily chores are repetitive, but life on the farm changes with every season.
Longer-term internships
Longer internships involve a careful application process. We need to know you understand the realities of Arctic life, not just the romance, because once accepted you function as part of our team and live in the guide house alongside our guides. The fit has to work both ways.
1 Month Trainee ProgrammesA one-month trainee placement, primarily for animal or tourism professionals, mastering the basic daily tasks of a husky farm.
1 Week Intensive CoursesA week-long, hands-on guide-training programme - quad and sleigh training with the dogs, available in Autumn and Spring.1 page7-day Sleddog Training Camp
3-4 Month InternshipsOur core guide-training internship - one-on-one training, mentoring and modular competency targets, 3 months minimum, 4+ recommended.
3-day Sleddog Training CampA long, dog-filled Autumn or Spring weekend - train and play with the dogs and gain real behind-the-scenes insight.
Day in the Life of a Husky GuideA full day mentored by an experienced guide - a real, behind-the-scenes taste of life on an Arctic husky farm.
Gap Year PlacementsA long-term gap-year placement combining hands-on work with the dogs and the business skills of running an Arctic husky farm.
Husky Guide InternshipsIntensive skills-based internships for those wanting to experience mushing or develop professional husky-guiding skills.
Veterinary InternshipsAn approved BVA veterinary internship location - hands-on sled-dog medicine and the chance to run research projects with us.Good to know
